Post about Prototypes that you would've bought, if it wasn't for a bastard who didn't raised the price at the last second, or you were afraid to bid for it (like me, since my dad controls the damned EBay account).

I found a Paperboy Beta once...unfortunately, that was the first...and last beta I've seen. :( Meh, I'll keep searching Ebay...I just wish I didn't have to depend on ROMs for my site though. Oh well.

if you're talking about the gameboy paperboy beta that had a terrible picture that was a blury close-up of the label, i bought that and it was a fake, so you didn't miss out on anything. i've seen tons of protos since that one though.

Actually, it wasn't blurry at all. It was a picture of a normal GB cartridge, except it had a type written label. I forgot what it said, of course.

ahh, thats not the same one then. the one i got had a pizza greace stained label with some chicken scratch pencil writing on it. it was just a production version with a crappy label. the seller lied about it being sent somewhere to test or something like that. i forget.

nesman, it has pizza sauce all over it?!? The seller didn't happen to be that dan fellow from the NES World messageboards, was it?

the seller's name was "futekmek", not sure if it was that dan guy or not. it wasn't actual pizza sauce though, it was greacy and orange stained like someone ate pizza and then wiped the greace on it. :/

How does one even attempt to pass off something that lousy as a prototype?

I'll bet you were pissed...

It's easy to pass something off. Just put a handwritten label in japanese, place on the label, and ta da! Fake prototype!

I saw that prototype that Robotica is talking about...
I think I bid on it when it was at like 10$ or something...

I think it ended somewhere around 90-120$...
(not sure though...)
