Got, for me, the ultimate Dreamcast. Only $400 shipped. I'm sooooo happy. This one blows away any Dreamcast. Even the 78/78 limited edition. To bad it will take TWO MONTHS before I have it in my hands. (shipped with boat from Japan) Well who cares, it's finally mine and I have waited years to get it.
So you can all start to congratulate me now below :-)

I saw the pictures. It's a dreamcast built into a weirdass monitor with weird controllers. Congrats on getting something you're that excited about... that's really what it's all about, yes?

I guess I don't get it. I looks like the results of an unholy union of a Dreamcast and an iMac. :D

Soo, you didn't know about this one? Interesting. Well, you can't know everything.
I can't wait to hook it up. Two months. Arghh.

There was one on Ebay recently, sold for nearly $800.
And the winning bidder was that jamesz28 guy. Is there no end to his spending madness?
Look here to see what I mean! Insanity, I tells ya! (http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewBidItems&userid=jamesz28&completed=1&sort=3&all=0&rows=200)

Damn, I've alway thought those looked cool, and asumed it'd be beyond what I could pay. For $400 I'd grab it in a second!

Some might say you got taken, but they'd likely be WRONG. That looks like a very reasonable price for such a kickass system. Unlike all the (seemingly) millions of other Limited Edition Dreamcast systems -- Hello Kitty, Biohazard: Code Veronica (1800 made...) and Code S.T.A.R.S., Seaman (YUCK @ Seaman), Mazora and the "Dreamcast Limited Edtion Customizible model" (78 made), this one actually has something going for it!
Oh, and at the not-usurious-in-pricing-at-all Game Choice Club, a DC Divers CX-1 will set you back $890 plus a likely substantial (around $80, I'd guess) S&H fee.
Nice catch!

Sweet deal! Oh, and you make me sick... you bastard! I want one very bad and know it'll cost at least $800 to get one. How'd you luck out?!?

Collecting the systems is rad (Euro, the 2 US versions + 10 or so Jap versions), but if you wanna be the true hardcore DC collector, you're going to need all the rare memory cards/controllers (there are a *ton*, especially in Japan). The only one I have now is a promo controller from the launch of WSB2k1 (it's clear), but there are many more.
The Divers is wicked rad, though.

Wowza wowza :o
Just getting into the DC thing myself. But this...I mean...I'm speechless.
My brother-in-law is headed over to Okinawa soon with the USMC and I think I'm going to have to send him on a little quest.

That's an amazing price for that, though myself, I'd rather have the S.T.A.R.S. one or the Code Veronica one :)

Wow, $400 is a very good price. In those pics there are what look like MIDI ports on the back of the machine...I wonder if any software makes upse of them.
The Wondermega mk1 also had midi ports, I can't think of any other console to have them.

He, he, thanks. A friend i Japan bought it for me. I shivered when I received his mail that he had bought it. No box though but I think there was only a common cardboard box that originally followed it.

I was ging to say, DAMN! I don't even remember that one from the book Sega Consumer History, but then I looked, and there it was. According to the book there are a total of 16 Japanese SE Dreamcasts.
Personally, I am looking for the Xmas Seaman one, or the pink Hello Kitty one.
FYI: There are 27 different VMUs on display in the book too.

Awesome that you found one and at a not unreasonable price! I've always thought that they look very bizarre, would be odd having anything like that in your room. Great buy!

Apparently the connection between the monitor and DC is composite. Not Component or RGB, but composite. God only knows why.
But yeah, it's surely the funkiest looking console ever.

WOW CONGRATULATIONS,
$400 is a insanely good price those divers dc's they usually go for double that.
Its my most fave edition dreamcast, i like to refer to it as the space channel 5 edition as it looks like its just jumped straight out of that game :D

*drools* @_@
How very, very cool is that? I was looking at getting one last year sometime but the idea of using surface shipping didn't seem too great to me.
But..wow... that is quite amazing! Defnitely my favorite LE console.
jajaja

lol that monitor looks fucked up. But that someone mentioned earlier, that your excited about getting it is whats matters :)
Where do you live btw? I recently recived a package from Japan shipped with surface mail and it took 7 weeks (i live in Europe).

Congratulations. Is that an "official" Sega Dreamcast LE?
I'm personally partial to the Hello Kitty one, which begs the question - are there any Hello Kitty Dreamcast games? (perhaps they're just in Japan?) I'm looking for the hook that will pull my daughter into videogaming for life. Mwahahaha.

It is an official LE.
And as for Hello Kitty games - there are 3. Magical Block is a puzzle game, as is Lovely Fruit Park. The 3rd - Otonaru Mail - is an email program that also comes with a VMU mini-game. I have never played any of them and they only came out in Japan.

I have yet to break four digits for any game or console, but I'm wondering if/when the day will come when I try to complete my US TurboGrafx/TurboDuo collection. :P
