I just read that 1.6 million copies of Soul Calibur 2 were shipped on the 1st day of release in the US. Does anyone know the sales figures of SC2 for all 3 systems it was released on? I figured the PS2 version would be the most popular, but I hear most people are picking up the GameCube version (at something like a 5-to-1 ratio). Anyone know?

Judging by my local EB's, it would be a lot higher then 5-1 in favor of the Gamecube. People with multiple systems seem to be drawn to Link.

Ha ha! Looks like Playstation 2 owners finally got the short end of the stick. They were stuck with Heihachi from the old and busted Tekken series, while all the other systems got cool characters like Link and Spawn.
I have to admit, though, I would have been interested in seeing all three of these exclusive characters battle one another. It's not likely to happen, but I can dream, can't I?

Heihachi is my favorite by far. I buy every game he shows up in.

(yes - seriously)

Seriously.

Heihachi rules. I even play as Heihachi in Xevious 3D/G+ on the PlayStation.

GC version of SC2 sold the most in Japan to my knowledge, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same in the US...

Seeing Link and Spawn duke it out would've been neat, if very odd looking. Too bad we'll never see that happen though.

Anyone have the feeling that there's a version of the game floating around Namco's home offices featuring all three characters? Y'know, one the designers made just for themselves.

Probably, and I bet their version also has KOS-MOS, Dig Dug, Dr. Dan, Dr. Don, Mr. Driller, Li Long, and Ziggy as hidden characters. Those rat bastards.

At this point, I'd put up that clever faked image of KOS-MOS in Soul Calibur II, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Oh man, I wanna play as Ziggy!...as long as it's the comic strip character ziggy, that is.

Hell yea Heihachi is awesome. I'd much rather play as him than panzy ass camel toe having Link. Spawn would be cool though, I'll have to pick up the xbox version once it gets cheap.

I'd be very suprized to hear that Game Cube has outsold the PS2 version here in the US. Link or no Link there just aren't enough Game Cube owners for that to happen.

I would imagine there is, but it would not get out due to legal issues. A cheat that would unlock them would be cool, but I am sure a lot of money went into each platform (marketing dollars from Sony, Nintendo and Micorsoft) for the exclusive characters.

Link rocks with skill. His weapons make him far more fun to play than Heihachi and Spawn, even if the old guy and the superhero are admittedly cooler. Still, I might pick up the Xbox version after the price drops and I get a better TV. The Xbox edition looks better in progressive scan than the other two, but it doesn't make much of a difference on my old 19-inch Panasonic.

Not to mention Nintendo would flip out like crazy if people could play as Link on the PS2 or Xbox.

See, Fenris? It wasn't such a dumb thought after all. :P

What about the character that basicly created Namco Pac-Man (or Puckman).
