After seeing Komb's Astrocade at the Mississauga swap meet I just had to have one. I was very impressed with Incredible Wizard.
Astrocade owners, what are your favourites?

I'm not an Astrocade fanatic but here are a few of the games that I liked for the system:

THE INCREDIBLE WIZARD

Thanks to my friend Zach, I got hooked on the Astrocade, and even scored a white one. I have 29 games for the system, but there is one I totally recommend. Artillery Duel has got to be one of the best two player games for the system. Ramdomly generated level design, along with wind variations. Pretty much you are a trying to blow up the other person with a mortar. Nice little into touch, you HAVE TO GET THE GAME.
I have to admit that Gunfight that is built on the system is a ton of fun to play. Best of all if you have the system, it is free!

Bally Pin It's not the greatest pinball simulation either, but it's miles ahead of others in its time. I mean good GOD man, look at all of the STUFF! Two different boards, each with lots of bumpers, flippers, drop targets, spinners... it even uses two controller triggers to simulate the pinball experience. I'm a pinball wizard there has to be a twist. And that would be my brain. [Gr: 6, So: 7, Ga: 8, Ov: 8]
Cosmic Raiders With the possible exception of The Incredible Wizard, this is my favorite game on the Astrocade. Plays a lot like Defender except you don't have those pain-in-the-arse humanoids to keep after. Tremendous sound effects, fast action, and varied enemies make this a showcase game for this console. [Gr: 9, So: 10, Ga: 9, Ov: 9]
Incredible Wizard, The The game that spawned the popular adage: 'Never Trust Santulli'. Watch your hapless 'partner' become points added to your score as you fire at his back and then again as his next guy re-enters the screen! Yeah, there’s bad monsters too, but they’re really no more than a distraction. Absolutely one of the greatest home games ever created for two players. A MUST. [Gr: 9, So: 10, Ga: 10, Ov: 10]
Solar Conqueror Now THIS is the game for ME! Conquerin' planets, drinkin' a beer. Various planetary defenses attempt to thwart your efforts to take over entire solar systems (which, remarkably, only involves taking out a planet's big gun - good mental note for the 'real deal). Good fun, gets really frantic at higher levels. [Gr: 8, So: 9, Ga: 7, Ov: 8]

I'm calling you on Bally Pin. I thought that game was abysmal... the plain graphics! The cheesy ball physics! The unimaginative playfields! The extremely bored player! Its flaws just go on and on, like the list of replacements for the disposable judge on the new Peoples' Court.

I really like the built-in Gunfight game. If you want to play some simpler games that were programmed in BASIC on the Astrocade you can play them with your Astrocade hooked up to your computer. There are a ton of games available from the Bally Yahoo group. I think you can join through www.ballyalley.com. I even made cassettes and played them that way.
