View Full Version : PS2 Rarity Check - Everquest Beta Disc

As I was looking through some old stuff the other day, I came across my beta disc for Everquest for the PS2. What would you think the press run of this was? Think it's a potential "rare" title? I tend to think so, but that's my cheap opinion.
Same goes for an Outtrigger beta for the Dreamcast. I haven't seen ANY of these things ever. I know there's some, but this thing is rare in my mind.
What do you guys think?

LAst I heard 30,000 were sent out with another 20,000 going out after a month.. not very rare at all.

That's the same thing I have heard, and just in case, I made sure to grab 2 copies of it when I saw it at Gamestop.

Umm I don't think they had the Betas at Gamestop. Are you thinking of the demo disks? Anyway the testing for Everquest was in 3 stages so they sent 3 versions out. Everyone who was a "tester" got 3 disks if they stayed signed up.
I wonder if that means that each reversion had about 10k for a total of 20-30k or if there were 20K-30k produced for each revision. That would mean there were 60-90k made, making it the most common prototype EVER.
Not very rare as far as a beta goes either way, but still a nice collectable.
