Saturn Phantasy Star Collection- region question

Is this a region free game?

My Saturn has Japanese guts (it's black, but it's insides are of a white saturn). I've region switch modded it, so I can flick a switch and go from US VF2, to Japanese Radiant Silvergun, easy as pie.

I just got the Phantasy Star Collection. It seems to work, regardless of the mode I have my Saturn in, US, or JP. Except, all of the game text is in Japanese, and I can't switch it.

I'm very confused. Does it "know" I have a Japanese saturn, and is setting the text to Japanese because of that, or is it (the text) supposed to be in Japanese only?

/serves me right for having a system so altered it has an identity crisis... ;)

Umm, dude...ALL Japanese RPGs are untranslated. Just becuase you switched the region in absolutely no way means you switched the language.

Ummm dude... my imports don't work in US mode and this this game will work in US mode-----Dude.

There's a title called 'Phantasy Star Collection' for the GBA that I own. It's Phantasy Star I, II, and III.

No, they are not the same. The Saturn one I believe also has part IV and a bunch of extras.

No clue why your system plays that on all regions. I have PS Collection for the saturn and it don't work w/o a region adapter cart on my US model.

There is no US PS collection for Saturn., It was a Japan-only release.

No, there's no US version of the game. It was only released in Japan and is fairly expensive too :) And it's very odd that it'll work in US mode...must be something to do with your mod, because it SHOULD only work on a Jp Saturn. It's DEFINITELY an import though. If you ever wonder....there's an easy way to tell without even playing the game. Check the Saturn logo on the disc! The US logo looks different than the Jp one. The Jp Saturn logo has that big swirly "S" on the word Saturn, and the US logo, all the letters are the same size. That's my factoid of the week :)
