For that kind of money, you think they would give you a TV that isn't a piece of shit.

There 2 things wrong with it.

1) It has a round screen...blech.
2) It has a 33" screen. This is a pretty odd size. After working in a high end electronics store, I can say that no reputable brand makes a TV that size. I know GE makes one like that, and those always got returned within a few days because they are just piles of crap. Worst yet, those TV's only cost around $300...look how much they are charging.

You're better off not buying this.

What game is this????

It looks like primal rage, but I don't remember the dinosaurs being that big (or even a t-rex...I remember raptors)

Anyone know what's up with that light gun? I didn't know there were light guns that would work with a PC and mame... I'd LOVE to play the arcade light gun games.

Following a lead from the name of the image file, and checking out VG Museum.com, it is 'Dinorex' by Taito. I've never seen it before, looks neat, like those old timey stop-motion movies.

If you would have read the description you would see that it's not a TV. It's an actual Arcade type monitor.

I have one. It works pretty good. You can get them for either the monitor or a TV. Check it out here:

Can you explain the technical differences to me? I was always under the impression that they are pretty much the same thing.

That's actually good advice, in case anyone happens to be TV-shopping at the moment. Based on my experiences in the world of electronics sales, you can pretty much feel free to avoid anything made by RCA, GE or Emerson (the "Thomson Trio of Terror") unless you like talking to service people on the phone.

Honestly, even Daewoo and Samsung (the "cheap" brands from Korea) tend to hold up better.

I didn't price everyting out exactly but,
If you have time and knowledge, you could build that for less than $2000.

That monitor is no TV, Wells Gardner is basically top of the line in arcade monitors. I know a 25" is around $600.

Actually, Samsung is considered high end :) They were the first company to create HDTV. That's what I have actually. A Samsung 27" HDTV, and its absolutely great. Especially for the price! Only $700!

Maybe you're thinking of Sansui? But yes, Sansui does build a more solid product than most brands.

I really don't understand all of these specs, but are these arcade monitors just really big VGA monitors?

Well, he's got one bid.

But how did that bidder get a "Power Seller" ranking with only 260 feedback?

You get a Power Seller rating for a certain # of items AND $.
I think the first bronze Power Seller is 3 items a month and an average of $1,000 a month.

Granted, my MAME cabinet isn't that big and doesn't look as good as that one, but here's my quick run down so far.

Dead cabinet: $0
2 gig machine at 4th saturday sale: $200
21" monitor: $100
ipac, joysticks, buttons: $100

Hm, that's about $400 bucks. And for $5000 less, mine has MAME roms. :)
