Upon browsing the Sammy vs. Capcom thread, at the same site http://www.crunkgames.com Capcom will release all 8 console MM games plus the 2 arcade games! That's a lot of Mega Man. Excuse me while I havea Mega-gasm.

EDIT: Another news feed of this: http://www.gamers.com/news/1463368

I was just gonna post the same news.

Kinda glad I got rid of most of my NES MM games recently.

I wonder if they'll do something similar with the Street Fighter series. I guess that doesn't really matter to me considering I plan on getting most of them in PCB format.

Setting a reminder for February. I absolutely have to have that. :D :D

oh snap

oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap oh snap

Still, I don't want to have to buy a PS2. I could pick up the last two games I 'need' for cheaper than grabbing the console and game.

I was wondering if those were dupes or not. Say it ain't so.

I'll probably get flamed for being stupid, but do you folks think the genuine cartridge price will drop after this is released?

They may go up in price, in my opinion, from the heightened public awareness. Metroid II for the gameboy jumped up in price when Prime and Fusion came out.

Ten Mega Man games in one package? And cartoon clips? And commercials? Daaaaamn.

One thing doesn't seem right, though. The Gamers.com article says that that the collection will include games from "the NES, Super NES, Game Boy, and PlayStation," but if we're only talking about Mega Man 1-8 plus the two arcade fighters, the GameBoy titles don't really figure into it. Does that make sense?

Here's another article on it:

Perhaps I am being picky but why doesn't Capcom due what Nintendo did with Super Mario All Stars and upgrade the grpahics as well as have the original graphics?

It is so. I went on a crazy MVS and CPS2 buying spree, and kinda went overboard. So some stuff had to go, and since the MM games are worth some money, they were part of the sell off. I did keep MM2, MMX, and MMX2 though.

There have never been home versions of Mega Man: The Power Battles and Mega Man: The Power Fighters, has there? Aside from that NGPC thing, of course. (If Capcom can include previously unemulated arcade games in a compilation pack, it makes it all the more surprising that Sega doesn't bother.)

Maybe Rockman & Forte will be unlockable.

Thanks, Kaine 23, for the link to the additional article which cleared a lot up. Yep, seems there will be "only" MM 1-8 and two arcade games on there, which makes sense of the other articles; MM 1-8 includes 6 NES games, one SNES game, and one PS1 game. Maybe some GB games are unlockables.

Still, I wish it would contain all of these so you could see the evolution, or better, stagnation of the series:

So, after showing off :) I say it's a GREAT thing!! I'll buy it for sure....probably for the GameCube, sorry, Sony, it just feels right to play an early MM game on a Nintendo console. :)

"If it ain't broke you can still fix it." (Tim Allen)

I think the MM series is great, I love it. I have even a MM binder, probably 200 pages, with self made tables for each game (1-ups, Energy tanks, boss, best weapon to defeat, etc.) from MM1 til MMX6, and from MM1 to MMx3 torn out pages from Nintendo power with maps where I put the location of the Tanks and 1-ups with labels. All done with a PC, and each page in plastic sheet protectors. I'm mad, I know. :)

I think the new release will drive up the ebay prices for the MM games even more which are already a bit nuts.

I wonder if this will be a $49 retail buy, or $39 (like Network Transmission). After the utter dissapointment that MM:NT turned out to be, I was hoping for something like this. Too bad the GB games aren't part of the comp. Still, my calander is marked with a big cirlce around the month of Feb.

I think the new release price will be around the "Sonic Mega Collection" price, which sold for $40 I think, not sure though (still have to buy that one) Anyway, I guess either $30 or $40.

This is really great news to me, the best part would have to be that the older mega mans are getting redone like the japanese only ones back a few years ago. Also they are supposedly adding those 2 arcade mega man fighting type games which were really rare as well.

Yeah but about the Game Boy games: I don't think they called those something different like "Mega Man Adventures" and Mega Man Adventures II" like Castlevania did. I think it's just Mega Man. So when they say "Mega Man 1-8" maybe they mean "Mega Man I NES, Mega Man I GB, Mega Man 2 NES, Mega Man 2 GB..."

Who knows? Those GB games were fun. They incredibly similar to the NES ones except they had better sound, B+W graphics, and they mixed up the bots a little bit (I think they left out Bombman and Gutsman from the series altogether). Rush also had more incarnations on the GB I believe...he could transform into a submarine and stuff which (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't *think* he could do on the NES. I still remember that one GB final end guy that had all those melting clocks like from a Salvador Dali painting or something in the background...

Well if the prices for the carts do go up, might as well get them now. Good thing I just need MM5 to finish my NES MM collection.

Actually, I am quite sure that in Japan the Game Boy series was known as Rockman World I-V.

The big change in the Game Boy games was the sub-bosses featured in each one: Enker, Quintet, Punk, Ballade... (I think that's all of them.) They were all featured together in Mega Man V.

It might also be cool if they included Rockboard, the old NES game. Apparently it is a very difficult game to hack a translation into.

Upon reading this news there was an explosion of man-batter. :o

Hell, I think $50 isn't a bad deal for the collection, but I would imagine they'll put it out for $40.

I almost bought all of those Japanese MM re-releases for PSOne earlier this year. Glad I didn't, as that's what we're getting. :rocker:

I completely disagree, I believe the nes carts value will go down, e-bay prcies tend to rise when future Systems release SEQUALs and they drop when the games are re-released, take Chrono trigger, FF2, FF3 for example, before Chrono cross Chrono carts brought about 60-70 bux, when Chrono Cross came out nearly 90 cart only, as soon as chronicles hit it dropped to about 35 bux and has remainded at that price, ff2 and 3 used to get about 50 cart only as well...Just my 2 cents...

Oh and by the way, That is one hell of a cool collection of Mega Man games
