I just found a set of 3-D glasses today (w/adapter) for the SMS. I had never seen them before today, and they came with no documentation, so they are totally foriegn to me. The problem is that I have no 3-D games to test them with. I plugged them in anyway and started playing the built-in games. The right side got sort of darker and the left side didn't really do anything. My question is do they only 'activate' when they sense a proper 3-D game? Or, do they normally do the same thing no matter what game is in? I'm just trying to determine if they are in working order or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like they're working and they only really activate with a game...nice find!

Yeah, they ONLY activate when the system's putting out 3D code. Kind of annoying when playing Line of Fire, because the 3D effect turns on and off at times (due to it not being a true 3D game, but having a secret 3D mode)

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to find a 3-D game now to get the "unequaled (especially for the time) 3-D experience". Can any of you recommend a good 3-D game or do they all suck?

No they dont all suck. In fact all the ones I have are pretty fun for a while. Zaxxon is cool, Maze Hunter 3D is also cool. The best thing is that they are all easier to find on E bay. The 3D games should only run at most 20 bucks. Zaxxon would run around 5 bucks, cant beat that.
But I was now wondering, does anybody know if there are any Import SMS 3D games which were never produced for America?

I thought I had broken glasses because only one side would power up/flicker, so if you get a game and the glasses still only power up on one side, turn the plug on the glasses and pull it slightly in and out of the 3D card until both sides work.

I've always liked Space Harrier 3-D.

You should be able to get a copy of OutRun 3D nice and cheap. LOL

I got a copy of Out Run 3-D cheap (about $4) It was a loose TecToy version though.

As for the Non-US 3-D games, there's only Out-Run 3-D and Line of Fire.

Okay, I think I'll go for Maze Hunter first. Two recommendations plus a glowing review in the guide.
