I just started collecting all of the rare variations of consoles, and i just realized
i need to store them somehow.
How do all of you store your consoles, and what is the most recommended way?

In the original boxes unless they're hooked up. If you don't have those, I use big cardboard boxes. Just pack carefully :) I don't know if there's a recommended way for hardware storage.

I was thinking about just bubble wrapping them so you can see them, or put them in a HUGE plastic bag. Also what do you do, when they are in the boxes, to keep termites away? Those bastard bugs have ruined to of my boxes i just found a week ago. :(

um........just my thought.......but get rid of the termites.........then your idea should be good to roll......i've never had any boxes chewed up at all really......or..........i guess i've had a few things chewed on by mice......but peanut butter takes care of them bastards(peanut butter on a mouse trap) but that's just what i think......

Edit: realized my reply was of no real value, so.......i'll toss in my 2 cents.......yes keep them in say......a basement and away from walls:) if you dont have basement.......buy a seperate fridge for them.... LOL LOL LOL LOL but i keep mine in my basement on shelves, and if there are bare walls near, i keep them about a foot away from the wall........and while i'm at suggestions, if you can find a big box. older tv's and monitors and computer systems were better. they have a great big plastic bag in them, thick ones too. after you wrap them up to protect them.......stack them in the bag and tie the bag shut, keeps moisture out and adds another layer to stop life form from entering.

Keep your boxes inside and not in the garage, store them in a cool dry place. The box idea with wrap will work I think. I have 35 different systems and about 17 boxed...about 18 of those are loose and hooked up. Storing boxed game systems takes room and is cumbersome. I look at my boxed systems and know that some day they will be damaged...I try not to think about that day!!!

i use food grade plastic wrap, the industrial stregnth kind. got to a big lots or food service supply store. you can get rolls 30 inches across for easy use, next best thing to shrink wrapping/ cryovac. i wrap the whole console box, enough layers make a decent scrape shield too.
