Daimakaimura will set you back $45 if you can find it. Not that expensive.

How many SGX exclusive games are there? 6?

Supergrafx, and you NEED the Supergrafx system to play the games. Di you even have one?

There are 6 SGX only games, and a couple that have extras on the SGX like Darius Alpha. Darius Alpha alone runs $1000.00.

Yes...Darius Alpha is insanely expensive.

On the note of a SuperGrafx...I'm wondering if, since it has improved sprite handling capabilities, games that would normally have some slowdown present on a regular PC-Engine system would run smoother on the SGX?

Two other things. I didn't take much notice at the time, but the SuperGrafx Daimakaimura has much more detail to the levels than the Mega Drive/Genesis version, effectively offsetting the smaller palette (I like the sound, very reminiscent of the 1980s, so I don't consider that a detractor). Take the area in the first level where the plant tendrils burst through the ground...the background is essentially a couple diagonal lines for the ground plane in the Genesis version, but in the SuperGrafx it's much more detailed, similar to the arcade in some ways. I'd say that the SuperGrafx version is the best home console port of the game, in fact.

I also hear that 1941 Counter Attack is very good, maybe the best SGX-only title.

ON another note, why/how did Circus Lido (regular PC-Engine title from 1991) sell for 400,000 yen in '99? I actually had a chance to buy a copy recently for $40, but wasn't interested (even knowing how much it had once sold for). WHY??

Because it was insanely rare in '99 but since then a whole stack of sealed ones hit the market. I think there was a warehouse find or something, so the prices hit rock bottom. Combine that with dropping PCE prices in general and you have the new Circus Lido price!
