A friend of mine borrowed a few of my oldies a while back and I'm supposed to get them back from him this week and I was just wondering how these would fare when I try to install them on Windows XP, any help is much appreciated:
Leisure Suit Larry 7: In Love For Sail
Yoda Stories
I'm hoping at least one of them will play as they're both great games, but I seriously doubt that either is going to run properly seeing as how they were released (I think) in 1996! If anyone has these or can tell me a place to get a patch to allow them to run let me know please!

If they are DOS then nope.. If they are Windows 98 then there is hope.

Windows XP has an "Emulate in XXX mode" option for ANY program. I imagine it would run fine that way.

I haven't tried it yet, but dosbox is supposed to work somewhat on XP to play older games:

You may also want to look at VDMSound

This MB thread had some helpful info on running older software in XP:

Sound is often the HARDEST thing to get running with older games on Win XP systems. It's because the older sound card drivers and routines used don't work anymore with the modern settings.
Check out the FAQ at www.the-underdogs.org They have some sound advice there as well.

Atar1G1rl hit it on the head. The VDMSound is usually pretty good. I use that on my Win2K setup at home.
Your best bet to find compatibility issues is to go to http://www.ntcompatible.com. They have a listing of practically EVERYTHING.[/url]
