Anyone else enjoying PS2 Simpsons: Hit and Run?

All Simpsons games have sucked so far, but this one is really rather good. A total ripoff of Grand Theft Auto 3 of course, without the whores and violence, but still.... If you're going to rip off a game, you could do worse than GTA3. I'm really having some fun with this one. You find coins and stuff instead of hidden packages. Special jumps are there, as well as the standard mission formats. Probably more, I haven't discovered much yet, just came out yesterday!

I played a little bit today at work and I was enjoying myself. The mission so far are pretty easy...I completed 5 or 6 of them. Do you know how long the game is supposed to run? Also it was pretty cool exploring and looking for cards. I might pick it up.

How's the driving physics?
Can you drive any car in the game and are they significantly different from one another in the way they handle and what not?

I've only driven the Simpson's car and the Plow King plow and they both drive differently. For example the plow is much slower and harder to turn with. I'm guessing the other cars have their own attributes. Also, I believe you can steal almost any car you see and there are certain cars that you buy with the coins you get.

Correct. The vehicles differ from each other and handle in a way identical to GTA3.

The missions are easy, but it says in the headline of the Springfield newspaper "Study shows 90% of video games start with easy tutorial level"

I havent gotten to level 2 yet, but I assumes that means they will get harder. The road races are a bitch though, obviously I need a better car. Did you know you can steal the professor's jet car? It's fast as hell, but blows up way too easily.

I've never played GTA 3 (or any GTA at all) but I've got this game.. looking forward to trying it out.

So what do you do in it anyway? Is it a driving game? :? :embarrassed:

I am in strong agreement with you on that. I must have beaten the thing four or five times with my friends back in the day. :)

There's also the tomato-throwing section of Virtual Bart for SNES and Genesis. That's pretty good.

And I always liked Bart vs. the Space Mutants, though I'm pretty sure everyone else hated it.

I loved Bart Vs the Space Mutants but it got a little too hard for it's own good later in the game. :(
