There's a Pirates of the Caribbean level in Disney's Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for NES.

TMNT: Turtles in Time had a pirate ship level.

Can't forget the hidden pirate ship in Tony Hawk 3's Skater Island, complete with a pirate heckler. "Polly wanna see some real skills!"

Aren't there pirates in just about every Monkey Island game?

I swear Nyami has a pirate costume in one of the Pop'n Music games....

I may get slammed for this, but in SM3 there were several Pirate Ship type levels. I'm not sure you guys would count that.

Unreal Tournament has a pirate ship level.

Tenchu for PS1 had a pirate you had to kill. (If I remember correctly)

Isn't Cervantes from Soul Calibur a pirate?

Don't forget Data East's Captain Silver, A crappy arcade game that had a really crappy Famicom game semi-based on it, and a Sega Master System game that was FAR superior to the arcade game (Japan and Europe), but butchered into a pretty crummy game for it's US release.

How do you find that pirate ship in Tony Hawk?

In Skater Island, the thing that resembles a treehouse (next to the halfpipe) there are 2 flags hanging. An American flag, and a Jolly Roger flag. Grind the Jolly Roger and you will get a cutscene.

How about the pirates in Zelda: Wind Waker?

Cool, thanks... I've never really explored that level, I just do long grinds along the pools to get big scores.

Nothing will EVER top Pirates! for the C64. Same as the NES game, but somehow it was so much better. I had that map memorized down to the last tree...

How about "The Legend Of Black Kat" on this generation of consoles? That's a full-on lady pirate game.

That reminds me, Claw (http://www.captainclaw.com/) (old Monolith platform game) probably qualifies.

(Despite being a Monolith game, I never hear much about that one.)

No mention of either Pirate Ship Higemaru (arcade) or Higemaru Makaijima (Famicom) by Capcom, I see.

Truthfully, I'm really not surprised. Check them both out, though - they're both great! Phosphor Dot Fossils will back me up on this.

Princess Crown, available for the Japanese Saturn, features a pirate with the goofy name of "Portgus."

In Thousand Arms, Wyna is a pirate. She doesn't have the "F'narr!" patois of other pirates, though.

Skulljagger: Revolt of the Westicans. Battle ruthless pirates armed with a broadsword and bubblegum (I kid you not).

And also that Spanish pirate themed knock-off of Blood Bros. for the arcade (appropriately and vaguely named Pirates).

Mickey Mousecapade (NES) - Pirate Ship level, with pirate boss

Disney's adventures in the magic kingdom (NES) - Not positive, but wasn't there a Pirates of the Carribean level?

Ruudos

grandamchandler, yes that's true.

Captain Havoc (Genesis)
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (that small guy is a pirate, isn't he?)
Mario Party 2 (I think this one has a board with a pirate theme)

Probably also some Asterix games I think. I'm not sure, but the pirates almost always show up in the comic books.

Sotenga

Maximo: Ghosts to Glory (PS2)

The third world combines the Arctic and zombie pirates. Captain Cadaver is one hard boss.

Now that you mention it, there's also a Viking Ghost Ship level in Quackshot (Genesis). They were like pirates, but no one ever calls them that. :P

Now that I've read this again, I realize how much I miss my copy of Capcom Generation Volume 3. PSH was the game I played the most on it.

Still waiting for PDF to back me up here... ;)

I've been meaning to get Capcom Generation 3 ever since I read what PhosphorDotFossil's had to say about it.

Gameplay looks to be rather addictive. I'm finally getting around to getting the last of the Capcom Geners I don't have about now.

People always put that one down. Why?

Because the games are old? What a load....

As if the other games in those compilation packs are hyper giga poly am-gear spec 4D or something.

It's the 100 kilo shock!!!!

I think it gets put down so much because the games are so obscure. Instead of say, Strider or Forgotten Worlds, we get Vulguus, Exed Exes, Pirate Ship Higemaru and Son Son - all of which are great. So what if very few people over here know them?
