I would like some help from all of you out there in compiling a list of all the Cold War themed games that came out during and just after the Cold War.
Thanks!

well its a game based on a movie but colecovison Wargames is 100% M.A.D.

missile command had no direct national label but the theme was perfectly clear. who didnt think about it when the last city got hit and that game over blast went off?

There's a whole range of strategy games for the C64 including Germany 1985 (plus expansions), Theatre Europe and so on.

Speaking of mutually assurred destruction, we can't forget the actual M.A.D. game for the 2600. :)

It didn't actually come out during the Cold War itself, but wouldn't Command & Conquer: Red Alert count?

Yeah C & C red alert fits, but I think it is too post Cold War, keep'em comming!

Better yet, how about a general list of console games that incorporate historical (or "historically inspired") events?

I propose Desert Strike and Medal of Honor for starters... :)

And on the Cold War theme, how about the Rambo games for SMS?
