i finally decided to play this game but something is confusing me. when your buying weapons at a shop is there a way to tell if you already own a certain weapon before you buy it? i mean while your in the shop buying and not having to go back to your inventory and remember what you already have?

I don't believe there was.

Except for a good memory and a quick check before you go in there.

BTW: Auron's Gorgon sword with the stone touch ability was GOLD. Sure, it may not have been physically powerful, but the rate that it would turn enemies into stone when you got to the plains and thereafter in the game was very, very HIGH.

I had similar good results with Lulu's Death Touch weapon (Fatal Cait Sith I think) which meant Lulu saw more combat than a few other characters for a while. :)

Personally, I'm near the end of the game. I've finished it once, but now I'm trying to build my party up to take on the Dark Aeons (who only feature in the PAL/International versions of the game). However, levelling up everyone isn't a great deal of fun!

I'm debating trying to finish FFX. If anything I'd likely only get X2 for my FF collection purposes one day. Even though the intro is very cool.

Go for the end. They spent lots of time building up Yuna & Tidus's story and well, let's just say.....the ending is worth it.

Plus, I'm planning on getting X-2 the day it comes out and it is definately important to that story.

Perhaps I will once I get motivated to listen to Tidus whine again. ;)

After a certain point, the spotlight isn't on him anymore. ^^;

Bah! In what way?

HORRIBLY long boring drawn out cutscenes (I can't understand how ANYONE can complain about Xenosaga after playing THIS "game") Little to no fighting or battle system. Boring fighting, the EASIEST Final Fantasy game to date (FF1+2 had a decent/average difficulty level) OK Story line that focused ONLY on a horribly drawn/animated surfer pansy (Raiden from MGS?) they didn't bring back nearly ALL of the summons (there were what, 7 summons in the whole game?) Horrible spells, bad equipment, a stupid spehere system where anyone could be anything (You could have a character do nothing but physical attacks the whole game, and make that person ONLY a healer in the sphere-grid)

I could easily go on like this for another 1-2 pages. Every aspect of this game was lame on Square's part. This company should have stuck with what works, instead of digging themselves deeper and deeper with EVERY move they've made (FF spirits within? FFX? FFXI? FFX-2 - Yuna Raider? do ya see a pattern here?)

i just finished the djose area so what ever is after that. when i first started the game it seemed very promising but the more i play it the more lame it seems to be getiing but the graphics are very good. and i really really hate games that don't let you see what you already own when buying weapons/armor in a shop so you can compare how it will affect your stats. thats why i'm not playing fft advanced right now and i doubt i ever will.
