Zektor vector arcade monitor adapter, Vectrex question?

Has anyone here tried the Zektor adaptor with MAME? I'm fascinated by this because I would really like a vector arcade game but fear the whole PCB board repair/maintenence side of things since I don't have any electronic expertise. How's it work? Easy?

I see on the Zektor page they have Tempset and others running on the Vectrex display. I always wondered if it was possible. Anyone know if a faster or 2nd CPU could be added to a Vectrex game cart so the Vectrex could draw more vectors and faster?

You can buy refurbed X/Y monitors. Should come with a warranty, even. X/Y monitors are similar to regular monitors in some ways, and very different in other. The HV side of an X/Y monitor is less powerful than a raster, so at least you can't shock yourself quite as bad. Any competent TV repair shop would be able to help you with any repairs that you may need in the future. Most X/Y monitor design shortcomings are well documented, and refurbs should have all pertinent updates already performed.

Unless you have an empty cabinet to put the monitor in, you'll also need to fabricate some kind of box.

Heh. I would think it would be easier to mod the Vectrex itself, though, wouldn't it? Of course, then you'd have the mod the carts to work with tne upgraded console...

...and by that point, you really ought to just call it Vectrex II. :)
