My first "portable" Commodore 64:

It also came with a bunch of software:

Highlights include the complete Enchanter trilogy, with the cool little items that come with the games:

Complete Bard's Tale trilogy, with all 3 clue books:

Complete Ultima IV with cloth map, plus extra books for Ultima III:

All in all a pretty happy little bundle! :D

Wow. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it all?

Wow, indeed. I never knew how small those things were... I wonder how much smaller it could be made today?

Did the Jumpman come boxed?

The whole lot cost me $150, which seems to be the going price for one without all the cool games. So, not bad relatively speaking, but a bit pricey for what's not much more than a novelty.

Small?!?! That thing weighs 26 lbs! Today you just need a GP32 and an emulator. That's pretty small. :)

Jumpman is actually just a copy. :/

Have you ever played Racing Destruction Set? My buddy and I used to play that game for hours. :-D

I still want one of these things... but as you said, they go for quite a price these days.

You got some sweet games there! Ogre, Maniac Mansion, Pool of Radiance, the Bard's Tales, and the Ultimas! Nice!

Wow! Nice find...
That's the first I've ever saw one of these..

Is there a port for a joystick at all..?

Racing Destruction Set is awesome! I haven't played in probably 15 years though. Hard to find anyone to play with these days.

It has everything that a C64 has except a port for a cassette drive. You could even hook it up to a monitor or TV if you wanted to.

All the connections are round the back, except the cartridge slot which is on the top.

My SX64, which is quite hard to find in 240V PAL format now.

90% of the SX64s on eBay are either in US or Germany, with the rest of the world taking the other 10%. Needless to say though, that despite the abundance of sales (there's at least 6-10 SX64s each month), they still go for $100+ each usually.

Nice haul of games btw! I waiting for the Bard's Tale Trilogy boxset to arrive from Australia at the moment, pics of that when it gets here...

Wow, I must've been lucky on mine. I paid $50 for mine on eBay, and then another $25 for shipping. One problem mine has is that the keys are pretty unresponsive. I know C64's inside and out, but when I popped open my SX64 keybaord I didn't see anything to "clean". Do the contacts just get old and wear out, or am I missing something?

The SX64 was marketed as a business machine. I wonder what they would say at work if I brought this to the next meeting and set it up on the conference table in front of me, FastLoad sticking out of the top and all.

Probably more than if somebody saw me taking notes with my HP-95lx. Man, I wish I'd picked up that Sharp luggable when I had the chance. :(

I just threw away a Kaypro II luggable. My wife was sick of it being moved from room to room, and no one would take it. It made a nice foot stool, and when desperate, stool.

When I got mine, the disk drive wasn't working (presumably from being jostled too much in shipping). I found this site to be immensely helpful: http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm.html
There's a bit about the SX64 keyboard in there you should read.

@Mayhem: Can't wait to see that!

Awesome, thanks for the link. Keyboard cleaning just went on to my weekend "to-do" list.

Three Stooges...excellent. The SX-64 is nice as well. ;)

I had a chance to buy one recently...they wanted $115 and it didn't have a ton of software, so I passed. I really wanted it though :)

Did you ever get this? I'd never heard of such a thing and would love to see it.

Seller has been "tardy" (their own admission, least they didn't fob me off with an excuse such as a relative died, their car packed in etc)... I hopefully will get it shortly. Haven't heard back from seller as I sent an email a couple of days ago. Will be carefully monitoring with possible eBay kick-up-the-arse message soon if it doesn't get here...
