I recently used a buy-it-now to purchase a complete Aladin deck enhancer set on eBay. Here's the link to the auction:

Well, the guy FINALLY got back to me after a couple of days with a shipping quote of 26$!!!! 26$!!!!!

DAMN! I've shipped 20lb+ items across the border for less!

So I e-mailed him back, and he didn't get back to me yet.. (36 hours and counting).

Anybody deal with this guy? His customer service is REALLY crappy!

Well I've only shipped 1 item to Canada. It was a Colecovision , and it cost me $23.00 .
But I gurantee it was heavier than your purchase.

The exact same thing happened to me with the exact same seller a few months back. If you think it is a total ripoff just like I did then don't pay. I can tell you from experience that he is as lazy with leaving negs and NPB warnings as he is with responding to emails.

I've bought the same set of games from him before. He severly over charges on shipping like you've found out, although he is legitimate. You will get the products. I don't think he speaks english too well either, which may be half the confusion, and slow email response times.

I've been burned too many times. I NEVER bid on anything without a definite shipping amount.

I purchased this same item from this guy. I hear he has a bunch of them. My shipping charge was the $12.95 that was quoted in the auction.

I know, I was just stating that the guy charged me exactly what he said that he would for shipping. The auction didn't list a shipping fee for Canada or other countries but you have to assume that it would be a bit more than domestic shipping.

A bit.. yes.. double.. no.

I have had MANY transactions with the US, and my brother even has a business on eBay (with over 1000 transactions per week).

As you can imagine, I'm very well aware of shipping costs cross the border, and around the world.

I can definetly tell you that the amount he told me was just off the top of his head. Nothing pisses me off more than some guy charging me 20$ for shipping, and then seeing that he actually paid 5$.

What's wrong with people!? Don't they know that the actual shipping amount is easily available to the buyer!???

Heck, most people are surprised to find out that shipping anywhere from the US East coast to me is CHEAPER than shipping anywhere to the west coast USA.. yet they still try to rip me off!

It is a bit high I suppose. What would you think that this weighs packaged up? 7lbs maybe? If so than shipping costs $18.95 via airmail or $16.50 surface mail. I'm not sure which method he's using. You can always check internation shipping rates from the USA at the USPS International shipping calculator (linked below).

About a year ago I bought a set from this guy. He charged me $18.95 for shipping to Nevada. When I got the package which was sent parcel post, the postage was $6.00 or so. If you want to pad the shipping a buck or two to help for some packing supplies I can understand, but 3 times? Want to know the kicker, The "box" he used was actually 2 bottoms of soda cases taped together. I mean at least give me a real box.

This is why you read feedback before bidding, the guy has a ton of neutral and negative feedback, and they ALL say that he overcharged shipping/charged an arm and a leg for shipping.
