I've got MAMED .37b15 running on my Dreamcast...sorta. I've got MAME running but I can't seem to load any of my ROMs. According to the instructions, I'm supposed to put my ROMs in zipped format in a directory called \roms, which I have done. The other option is to first boot the program, then insert the second disc with your ROMS on it, but again, this says that the directory needs to be \roms. You would think that the app would just pick up this directory off the source disc but apparently not. All I see is a menu which asks me to pick a rar file to load to play the corresponding ROMs.

I'm down to less than 10 blank CD's now and so I'm sort of reluctant to burn one just as a MAME ROM repository (besides, I already have a backup), assuming the two-disc thing is supposed to work. I'll try this only as a last resort. In the meantime I come to the forum, cap in hand, and wondering if any of you might know what to do. Thanks.

When I set this up a long while back I didn't use a two cd method because I really wasn't sure if that would work. Instead I made certain mamed packs on one cd with the roms included and self booted that. It's been so long I really couldn't tell you how I did it now. I have to warn you that wasting all of these cd-r's on Mame for DC is not a wise idea IMHO, as the emulation is very slow and buggy unless you want to play some very early games on the DC such as Frogger, Mr DO, etc. If you are still eager to try it out and cannot get it running, I have a 3 CD set that includes all 16 packs with all the roms set up for them that I can get over to you if needed.
