A person by the name of Riotoftheblood over at the NG forums built it for me. I went a picked it up last week, and it's fuckin awesome. Has a beatiful S-video picture. It's basically the A board mounted inside the case with the jrok, power supply and appropriate wires. He did a very clean job with everything, so there are no wires in the way when you're switching out games. The side of the case is easily removable for easy switching of games. I think I may use this kinda case for my next PC.

Here's some other pics.

That rocks. Was that case painted blue or is that its original color? Where can I find one? :-D

Boyko -

Sick man! Do you mind me askin how much he charged you for that setup?

I recognize the name from the NG forums, but don't know him. Does he take orders?

Sweetness....

I believe he plans on making more, but at a first come first serve basis. So I would recommend sending him a PM over at the NG boards and asking him about it.

As for the price, I bought the main parts and had them shipped directly to him.

Case - $70
Jrok enconder - $80
Power Supply - $30

I traded him a minty complete Mega Man 1 for the rest of the parts (wires, etc.) and the labor. I also provided my A board which runs about $40, and had him wire it up for the MAS sticks that I already had. The side stickers I got from my Gem Fighter kit. I dunno if he'll take trades like that in the future, but you can always ask him.

That's the original color. I named it Capcom Blue. :)

Verrrry nice.

I'm Jealousy Green.

(I've heard good things about the J-Roc, I went with a less costly solution, it's still pretty nice, but I don't have anything with S-Video ins either.)

'cuse the ignorance, but what exactly is it?

Yeah, I'm stupid. But if you've got it, flaunt it, right?

A little like a homebrew CPS Changer (http://assembler.roarvgm.com/CPS_CHANGER/cps_changer.html), isn't it?

I should probably pick up a CPS changer some time. The home SF games sure don't do it, and the CPS changer really shouldn't be too far off the arcade version from what I've read.

I would recommend just getting a superun to use for CPS2 games instead of a CPS changer. I don't think the CPS changer supports all the CPS2 games. Plus with a regular supergun, you can play other jamma PCB's as well.

Actually, there's a picture in that link that seems to show a Space Invaders board plugged into the CPS Changer.

Ahh, but superguns allow MVS play too for Neo Geo goodness.

...thanks for the direction to Broken, Butta. I'm talking with him now and he's giving me much better pricing :) Now, to see if I can snag a MV-1FZ board for the UniBios and a couple Neo sticks and I'm set!

CPS Changer = the real product and worth money

Supergun = not

That's all there is to it. If you want a Supergun, that's fine.

:hmm:

A Supergun is worth money and is a real product.

I bet if I was to sell my CPS2 system 5 years down the road, I would get more than I paid for it. But I'll never sell it of course.

But if you want to overpay for a CPS changer, that's cool.

If you can find one for a good price, more power to ya.

That made absolutely no sense.

First of all, what I built for buttasuperb is a CPS-2 system, NOT CPS-1 which is what the CPS Changer is.

Actually, the CPS Changer isn't really a CPS-1 system. It's a bastard CPS-1 that supports a pathetically small amount of games (around 10). Hooo boy. And how much does that thing sell for?

It doesn't get any more "real" than having a real CPS(-2) board inside.

So what if the CPS Changer is "Worth Money". It is today, for all intents and purposes, a joke, and serves little purpose outside of being some collector's trophy.

As for my system "not" being worth money, well... you're simply wrong, and "That's all there is to it."

Next time use your head before you decide to be an asshole.
