I am at the point where I am looking at unloading my entire collection of games. I have been collecting for only a couple of years but as of late other hobbies are taking my time. I would say I have a modest size collection. About 600 NES games w/ many accessories about 400 Atari 2600 games again many accessories. Also some misc. systems like Sega Genesis about 100 games, SNES, N64 and a PS1. I was thinking of selling each system as a collection. Yes I will have lists of everything in time. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas if it would be better sold as a collection or should I try and piece it out. I am not looking at trying to get rich, just a fair price for both the buyer and me. I also have done alot on ebay (not just games but lots of items) but not sure if thats the place to sell. If anyone has ideas please let me know.

most people here are interested in buying seperate games and not whole collectons.....cause most of us already have a collection started.

hope that helps and welcome to the forums

it depends how you look at things......i wish i woulda sold some of my stuff as a whole collection just to get it out of here. you get left with some junk LOL ......not exactly junk but the bottom of the barrel....and it gets harder and harder to get rid of as the list gets smaller. but there is more money in piecing it out.....just depends what kind of time you want to invest in parting with it.....the more time spent....the more money.

just my 2 cents :-D

Yup, exactly what he said.

If you part out a 2600 collection, you're going to have a tough time getting rid of those Combat and Pitfall carts near the end. Selling it as one large collection ensures that it's all gone. Also, if you part out a 400 piece 2600 collection and a 600 piece NES collection, that means you're going to be shipping over 1,000 different items. That's a lot of shipping -- even if your packaging costs you a buck a package for bubble wrap and envelopes, that's $1000 bucks right there. Of course, shipping 400 carts at once has it's own logistical problems/nightmares associated with it.

For every person who's tired of collection, there's someone out there eager to get started. Who knows, maybe you'll find that person!

ha ha , you are young...a 3600 collection :-D ...I want one of those too.

I may be interested in some NES stuff...I pay good prices too for complete games. are yours complete or carts only?

also I already have 750 NES games, I really don't need 600 more ;)

The one thing I dont want to do is get stuck with all the combat, pacman's and the slew of other commons that we all love to hate. I guess I will have to have a sale like "buy tooth protectors and get a free combat!" Wont that really get people interested!

As for the person who asked about complete games, I would say that about 60% of the games have manuals but no boxes. I sold most of the boxes awhile ago due to space.

I will work on a list this weekend of the stuff I have and post a link here when I get it done. Maybe I will throw up the collections on ebay just to see what happens with a fair reserve and if it doesnt go, then start to piece it out in smaller lots. If anyone has any other ideas let me know!

I would be interested in some of the boxed NES games.
