Shipping is $20? Hell, shipping was $12 for mine, from HONG KONG.

I really like my GP32, but with the FLU that seems like too much money for what it is. Most of the reviews are a bit forgiving. If you're wanting one for C64, Atari ST, NES and NGPC emulation, the GP32 is perfect. The Atari 2600 emulation is a little slow, the SNES emulation is developing but not there yet, the Genesis emulation is about the same, and the GBA emulation will never happen.

It's an exciting community to be involved in, because it seems like there are little dry spells and then POW, someone drops a bombshell (someone the other day announced that they had developed a perfect GB/GBC emulator out of the blue).

The screen isn't nearly as bad as the original GBA. You can see it perfectly in most normal lighting conditions. I don't have the FLA and I use mine regularly. The FL units have a tendency to collect dust and distort the screen as well.

Some good sites with good forums:

From what I understand you can do most of those things and more with a GBA and a special accessory kit anyway.

Which are you talking about? The GBA extra stuff or the GP32?

They use Smart Media cards IIRC. You can find pictures of the GP 32 all over the web.

Yeah, it uses SmartMedia cards (up to 128 meg) and comes with a USB cable to connect the unit to your PC. I sold my GBA and almost paid for my GP32, and I don't regret it a bit. The homebrew scene is exploding for it -- it seems like there's a new emulator or game coming out at least once a week now.

Plus, it's a hell of a lot simpler than lugging an SX64 around in the car ...
