1. Keep your games' warranties in a safe place. A warranty entitles you to free repairs if you need them within a specific time. The warranty is written on a card or slip of paper and packed in the box with your video game.

2. Store each game in its sleeve and box to protect it from dust.

3. make sure your deck is free of dust, too. Dust in the 72-pin connector can block signals so that your deck won't work.

4. Turn off the deck when you're not using it.

5. Remove games from the deck whenever you aren't using them.

6. Keep games off the floor, so that nobody steps on them.

7. Lend or borrow just one game at a time. It's easy to forget who has what if you're involved in too many lend-outs.

8. Don't eat or drink while you play your games. Crumbs and spills ruin games.

9. Store all your games in a special place when you aren't using them.

10. If you think you need a repair, go to a VCR or TV repair shop, or a video store. Sometimes you can make a problem worse if you try to fix it yourself.

Unfortunatly the warranty card thing is a DO-NOT imo.
Company who produce electronics in the united states, or sell them in the united states, are required by law...for a 1 year full warranty on thier products.
Now the reason people dont know about this, is because you are signing away your rights as a consumer by filling warranty cards out and sending them in. (so why would they tell you:P)
Electronic Company's love this because generally there warranty's cover far less repairs and far less time.
Im gonna look for the name of the act its under and try and get back to you.
BTW, this does not apply in Louisianna
sorry cajuns:P
