My PS2 has recently stopped accepting my Dual Shock 2. Takes my DS 1 just fine, and my PS One takes the DS 2 with no trouble, so I know it's not the controller. Any suggestions???????

Are you using a multi tap by any chance?
When a PS2's surface mount controller fuses blow, you lose "rumble' feature (no biggie) and you lose ALL multi-tap functionality.
Your controller block (in your PS2) may be failing.

No, I only have a multi-tap for my PS One....and I don't think I ever even used it....
