Weird X-box screen?

I just took out South Park and replaced it with Family Guy. Turned on the system, got the weirdest screen ever. It had a 21 in the upper left hand corner. It said "Your X-box needs repaired. Call Technical or Customer Service. It had the same message in 6 different languages. The Led was flashing red. I have been having some problems with the system reading discs. It either freezes up or I get the usual disc is dirty and needs to be cleaned message. I just takes the discs out and replace them, they will work fine for hours after that. Just thought it was weird.

er, if you haven't already, try cleaning your the lens with a cd-based cleaner. it sounds as if you use the system quite a lot, so you may have to deal with microsoft. did you send in your warranty card?... :D

Do you have X-box Live on your xbox? That's one of the things that can cause an error 21. If you do have xbox live the easiest way to fix it is to delete xbox live.

I didn't send in the warranty card, doh. I could exchange it easily at Wal-Mart, but, I have some game saves on the hard drive I wouldn't be able to transfer. I have been looking for my Lens cleaner for a week, guess I will have to buy one when I go out today. I do not have live installed, thanks for the info though, Juggala.

If you purchased it at Wal Mart, your system should be automatically registered with Microsoft. All modern systems have warranties automatically registered at PoP with barcodes visible through a window on the box. Wal Mart usually gives you up to 45 to do a return, Microsoft's warranty is 90 days.
