Don't think I've ever seen a sealed one, but it doesn't mean no such beast exists. You gotten in touch with o2william yet?

I don't think they were ever sealed with shrinkwrap, but they might have had those big staple thingies or been glued.

Now that you mentioned it, the glue rings a bell. I had a boxed O2 with me at OKGE, and the lower half of the box showed some gluey spots where it had probably originally been sealed.

the items inside were plasic wrapped inside the styrofoam.. I've seen a handful of these pop up on eBay and they have brought varied amounts (from about $25 to over $150) depending on time of year, quality of pics, and rep of seller..
If its pretty cheap, I'd jump at the opportunity to own a "new" 20+ year old system!

I did some double-checking, and we're all wrong! Well, except for Jag. Everything was plastic-wrapped inside the styrofoam dividers (as is the case with the machine I showed at OKGE). The box itself? It was taped in 3-5 places.
I'd demand some kind of seal of authenticity that you're getting the original Scotch tape. :-D

I lowballed her Ebay head. I told her I am more for buying it used, since I would only open the box up and play around with it.

I honestly did not know the boxes were only taped, but I'm not surprised. All the U.S. cartridge boxes were scotch-taped together too. I think Magnavox was too cheap to pay for packaging glue!
Yes, they taped every O2 box shut, from hardware to carts. Cheap bastards!
Damn thing is, if you leave the tape on for 10+ years, it usually damages the box. Getting that old tape off is the pits, even though it can be done (I've done it, using variuos chemicals).
