Nope, but blockbuster just got a dvd of the anime in that came out today.
I have no idea if it's new or old, just thought I'd share.

I haven't, but if anyone is in the region of Saginaw MI, I hear they have the arcade machine there. At least, I believe its Saginaw...

The anime is vacuous. Not unwatchable (much more watchable than a lot of other things, actually), just resoundingly, unavoidably vacuous. All the way through.
Exactly why an arcade game based on a vacuous anime was translated and officially released in North America when many other great Japanese arcade games with much better bases than a vacuous anime exist is a mystery to me. I am told it is very popular with a particular segment of the population.

Well int he case of the anime I may stick to hk subs thanks to TokyoPop's bastardization...
Anyhow, from what I've been told the arcade game is quite popular,a nd expensive too. He's only sene it out in California and twice over here- at the arcade in Willowbrook and Lazer park.

I think its entertaining. Sure, its not gonna change your world, but it makes racing and cars actually seem cool.
There's alot of crappy japanese cartoons, so Initial D is better then most.
I've played it... I think it was in Orlando (or maybe in Myrtle Beach), but it was pretty good... I mean it wasn't anything THAT great, but it was entertaining... something different than the typical Daytona USA and all the other games just like it.
