The Vectrex and its built in game Minestorm was featured on an MTV2 show called The Wrap. One segment detailed the adventures of a rap artist and game collector, who had a GameCube installed in his van and was looking for a Vectrex game system to round out his collection. He actually did manage to find one, at Multimedia 1.0 (the publisher of Foul magazine and Greg Wilcox's old stomping grounds). It was pretty cool... until the rapper started playing Minestorm and ruined the moment by griping, "You really come to appreciate today's technology after playing stuff like this." Bah! Nuts to you, buddy!
Anyway, I've never seen this show before, but this episode is pretty cool. It gets points for featuring older video games... but loses some for giving a jackass senator an opportunity to remind us of how bad games are for children. "They brainwash and hypnotize kids!" Uh, yeah. Keep nailing that scapegoat to the cross so you can keep your inept ass in office for a couple more years.
