I was thumbing thru some of my old videogame magazines (EGM # 9 to be exact) and came across one of those "trade in your old games for top dollar!" ads you'd always see from Funco Inc. There would be a couple hundred games listed with the "we pay you" and "we sell used" prices next to them. Most of the games they would buy for $10-$20 and sell for about double that. Well, here they bought Side Pocket for $50 used and sold for $95 used. I don't think it was a misprint because I remember they had the same price listed for for that game for about a year. Anyone know why this was so much??? I remember reading this back in the day and being blown-away by it then. I know they had Tengen Tetris listed for about the same price after it was pulled from store shelves, but Side Pocket was never yanked or considered rare. Anyone know whats up with that?

I remeber Funco having crazy trade in values for some common games. I used to get these games from freinds just to take advantage of their prices. They also used to have a sign that said "If x game isn't listed for x system it is worth this much" I used to love the little flyers they would hand out that had prices for the games. I miss those days.

Side Pocket was released in a small quantity and then more were released. I am not sure if the first release came out when Nintendo used a circular seal but the next release had the eliptical seal. Another game that had the same situation was Mega Man 1.
