I just looked at the freebie online DP listing of SMS games, and it shows only 114 US Released games. This seems really low. Then there's a section of non-US Released games were there's 3 times as many games.

I have a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game and it plays fine on my PBC/Genesis setup. This game isn't listed in the US Releases, but instead in the Non-US Releases. So this is an import? Did they put no NTSC/PAL/SECAM regions on these games?

It's an import, notice the multi-lingual box/instructions (if you have them)

virtually ALL SMS games will work on a US system.

And if you think 114 US releases is bad, you should see how badly the Japanese got shafted with the Mark III!

RacoonLad - love the FW theme!

All of my import SMS titles work fine here, and I'm running them through a PBC.

Thanks for this info :)

How are games like Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, etc in comparison to their NES versions? From what I understand, the SMS has better specs than the NES did, so I have to question this. Of course, I will some day need to pick up a 'true' SMS (though it would probably stay in storage) since the games unfortunately played through the PBC still have that Genesis trademark vertical liney look to the picture, which I have never cared for.

Ninja Gaiden is actually an all new game, rather than a port of one of the NES games - but from what I've played it's almost as good as the NES games. Double Dragon is more true to the arcade than the NES games was.
