Doesn't it suck when you win an auction for a game, and then you realize that the guy doesn't take Pay Pal? So you have to go the Money Order route. Plus you have to mail the guy the Money Order. I go to this one place, and they charge 1 buck per money order, regardless of the amount of the Money Order. And of course a stamp is 37 cents. So everytime I win an auction that doesn't take Pay Pal, it's like adding $1.37 to the final price.

And when you buy a game that costs 2 bucks, with 2 bucks shipping, for a total of 4 bucks, adding that 1.37 is like adding tax of 34 percent!

What also sucks is if they actually charge freaking tax. I thought there wasn't any tax on the internet? What's up with that?

If I win an auction that requires a money order I usually pay via BidPay. Yeah it's a little more expensive than buying a money order from a store ($2.95) but I don't need to buy a stamp oe envelope. Actually I don't even have to leave the house. It's a convenience thing really.

Charterone Bank lets you get money orders free from your checking account 3 or 4 times a month. Afte that it's expensive, but if you don't send alot, it's a nice feature....

Here's the easy way to do it: don't bid on auctions that don't take paypal.

I also hate when the seller doesn't take PayPal. Usually I don't even realize it until after the auction is over. Usually I will just get the money order from Bidpay or Payingfast.com. I use my PayPal credit card to buy the money order so that I can at least get some of the money back.

There was a place, when I lived in Tampa Bay, that had free money orders. No fees or anything, just whatever amount you wanted the mo for and that was it.

Almost any gas station convenience store will do them for .40-.70, there;s no need to pay over $1.00 in fees for them. Unless the seller is international, there's really no difference in them whatsoever.

But at the same time if a seller does take PayPal he is charged for taking a payment that way.

Everytime you win an auction WITH paypal, it costs ME $1.40, so it evens out, trust me ;)

(But, yes, I try to never bid on an auction that doesn't take paypal, Money orders SUCK.)

accidents happen. i emailed a seller right after winning and asked if there was any way on earth he could accept paypal. he said his stay on ebay was short and would be a waste to spend any time on it
so i got him to set up an account.....talked him through it and he was beyond happy. he had his money then......for numerous auctions. and i got mine at a discount cuz it was a middle night auction and it didn't really accept paypal!! cha ching!!
