I got Sniped in under 6 seconds for an auction on a absolutely gorgeous RGB monitor for a really good price.

God it hurt!

Have you ever been sniped in 6 seconds or less?

What I mean, is that I placed my bid, and after I placed my bid, it said that I was currently the high bidder, and it showed 6 seconds left. I clicked the page to refresh, expecting to see, "You are the Winning Bidder", but instead to my Horrah!!!, I see , "You've been Outbid!".

Damn that sucked. I couldn't beleive I got sniped with only 6 seconds to go.

The guy must have been using some special software for sniping or something.

3 Seconds  It was an all out-bidding war in the final 30 seconds.. I thought I had the last laugh, doh

I've managed to win a few auctions before by having my bid put in with 1 second left to go. All in the timing...

No, but I have sniped someone by 2 cents with 3 seconds to go. It was a great feeling LOL

I got sniped with 5 seconds left on an auction last week. I used the funds I set aside for it to buy a 24 of Kokanee.

with my slow internet connection at home, I'm lucky if I can place a bid within the last 15 seconds.

That title looks like a shitty Nicolas Cage movie.

When I first started on eBay, I had a WebTV unit on dial-up & used to get pummelled with snipe bids because of the slow connection.

The best is hitting the "Place Bid" button with 30 seconds left & the page taking forever to load. When it finally does load, you see that your bid can't be placed because the auction has already ended. Classic.

I've sniped lots of peole with under 5 seconds left to go. I've also won 2 auctions where I placed a bid 1 second before it ended.

...gotta love 2000k connection speed.

a few times though, I will forget to bid on an aution though.

Got sniped my first ebay auction for a H.E.R.O. cart. Things that hurt a bit more too was the seller and I wer ein contact with one another and he told me I likely would be sniped!

I've been sniped in under 6 secs before on a few things. I can't remember any off the top of my head ... I have kinda blanked them out! I do remember that there was one that I was really mad about though...

Still, I have done my fair share of it, so I can't complain! I sniped an auction for 10 import Megadrive games once, including Yu Yu Hakushu, Bare Knuckle 3, Virtua Racing and Phantasy Star IVE and got the whole lot for $120. :D And they were all mint as well. That was a happy day!

Oh, and they may well have been using software, or www.esnipe.com , which you can set to snipe for you with anything down to 1s to go.

I've never been pissed off about being sniped, but once...

There was an auction for something i wanted really bad, but it ended at 4 AM, and there was no way I was gonna stay up all night or interrupt my sleep for an auction, so I put in a pretty generous proxy right before I go to sleep. Turns out in the morning, I lost the auction. But it seems the high bidder put in TONS of bids, entering only the minimum bid each time, untill they were high bidder, a couple HOURS before the auction ended.

If I had sniped it, I would have win the auction, and for a pretty low bid at that.

Remember kids, ALWAYS snipe, even if it means missing 6 hours of sleep!

That guy must have been slow if he put in the minimum bid every time. LOL

I had that happen to me once, except that it was in the afternoon, and I had forgotten to look at the auction before the end. It pissed me off, because it was a Super Famicom with 4 games and an arcade joystick for $13, and then a month later, I saw the same lot go back on and go for over $50.

kind of threadjacking.....but does anybody really......i mean really get into bidding when it comes down to the last seconds. like the.......you're running from the cops kind of feeling........it wears off after a couple times and it only comes around when you really want something. so......pretty much everytime you bid. LOL

and i snipe every auction i win. i don't like the idea of bidding......then waiting 3 days feeling good about the high bid just to be knocked off. i wait until there's about a half hour left. check it......make sure i didn't space on the time. check it in 20 minutes and i usually find something to do on the net while i wait around.

also.......if i'm looking for something that isn't rare(which is usually) i just sit down at midnight.....find an auction with what i want and choose going going gone........and sit around for a bit. i almost always get it, and if i don't then the bid was far more than i wanted to pay.

I ALWAYS bid what I'm willing to pay. Sure, I bid that max price with under 30 seconds left every time, but I've never been outbid and said "Damn, I would have paid more than that."

Yep, that's what I do to... set esnipe to bid my max, and if I can't get it, well, it sold for more than I wanted to pay.
