What game released this XMAS season, will be considered the game of the year for 2003?

Or if you think that it's already been released so far in 2003, what game do you think will be remembered in Video Game History?

My guess is Ninja Gaiden for XBOX. And Half Life 2 for the PC, whenever that game finally comes out.

I think overall, out of all systems, definatly either Doom 3 or Half-life 2, although right now (for me anyway) things are definatly leaning towards Half-life 2. I cannot wait for these two beauties to be ported to box though.

For consoles, Fable for Xbox if it gets released on time.

I think each system will have its own masterpiiece. Accordingly:

PS2: Castlevania
X-Box- Ninja Gaiden
GC: Mario Kart
PC: Half-Life 2
GBA: GTA3
Dreamcast: I wish hehe

Border Down.

While it's out already, thus not released this Xmas season, the DC is still alive.

I think Need for Speed Underground. It will set precedent as to how racing games of that type will be portrayed in the future.

That's just my thought, though.

Mario Kart will prolly be good too.

it's different, and it's going to be a wide-spread first in the US. Konami's NES Laser Scope voice-recognition technology will finally be given an upgrade here.

For sure, it willl be Half-Life 2. While some of the other releases are notable, there aren't any real great improvements in anything, besides graphics. Sure, Half Life 2 is mainly a graphical improvement too, but their graphics and phsyics engines are pretty much revolutionary.

I agree with some of the sentiments.. nothing I am interested in made the Christmas release date. Everything has been pushed back to 2004. Fable was a big one I was looking forward to. :(

Christmas is gonna be the shits this year.

[EDIT: Sweet damn! I guess that Half Life source code being stolen has really hurt the company. News is that the game will NOT release for Christmas anymore, and has now been pushed back to 2004!]

Dangit, Intv! I was about to post about the Half Life II set back. LOL

Ninja Gaiden looks like it could steal the holiday for the Xbox, but with the GTA double pack coming out (with some serious enhancements) it might give Ryu a run for his yen. For Nintendo's sake I HOPE Mario Kart does well-I really liked that game on the N64. Speaking of "for the sake of" I also hope Konami is able to do justice to the Castlevania name in regards to 3D. The two Castlevania games on the N64 were not that great.
