Just went over there and on the bottom of their site they rank games by the number of hits/requests a game has had for the day...lo and behold Final Fantasy 7 just hit #1 out of nowhere. Am I the only one thinking a bunch of FF fans joined in on this to make it #1?

It's also #1 on Gamespot.com. WTF??? Anyone knows what happened?

Wow, thats crazy. If any games deserve it though, this is one of them. Great stuff.

Maybe the yet-to-be-released DVD (and rumor that FF12 will be related to FFVII) has re-sparked interest. I'm planning on picking up a copy, as I've never played it.

First of all videogames.com points to gamespot so it's the same thing. 2nd, before the announcement of the DVD Movie side story to FF7 it was rumoured that a sequel to FF7 would be coming out, so I'm sure that's where all the hits came from. The newer FF generation is irritates me. The SNES FF games were way better.

All the hits come from the news articles that have to do with the DVD Movie sequel... they can't really start a page for FFVII-2, because it's not a game.

A great game is a great game. Why do you think Mega Man has lasted so long and on so many systems. FF7 is just one of those games, sure there are points in that game that are a ROYAL PAIN TO PLAY, but it is also those same points that still draws the gamers in. My personal favorite point is Yuffie in Wutai. Sure I know it is an option, but every time I play FF7 I always go to Wutai. The same thing applies to the so-called American bosses. I belong to another board that has a page devoted to stragies just to beat those bosses

I have played several SNES rpgs... FF7 is not just good because of graphics or because it has actual 3 demensional characters... It is good because the story kicks ass.

I suppose I'm one of the few who could care less about the entire series....

It's not there right now, but wait a few weeks and FFVII will be back on the Gamefaqs.com Top 10. It's never gone for long.

FF7 is all hype.. The only reason it's getting big hits now is because it's the only "retro" game the 11-21 year old gamers remember. FF3 is, to this date, the greatest FF game.

There may be a point to that...that being said, FF7 is one of the relatively few games I've actually finished (figuring a % of the games I've played, I don't finish a lot of them nowadays). I finished, IV, but not V or VI...

FF7 has a lot of good points to it; I wouldn't say it's all hype. It still has a rambling storyline that is chock-full of story "filler," but it's way more tolerable than VIII. It's also a game that doesn't give you a whole lot of choice about how things progress (although it gives you more choice than some of Square's other games). Now if only you could resurrect Aeris...
