I've only played the demo, but am currently thirsting for more. It's such a great change of pace from the stale 3-D platformers of today...How thou yearns for his SNES!

Picked up Viewtiful Joe today myself! It's UNBELIEVABLY fun! It does take a bit of getting used to for the controls, but it's SO much fun, and such great gameplay! The storyline is hilarious too! So far, my favorite quote is:

Joe: "Can I have your autograph?"
Captain Blue: "No."

I guess you have to see it to get it :D Great game and HIGHLY recommended!

This game rocks. I got home from work at 3:30 and played 4 hours straight. I love it. This could possibly be my favorite beat um up of all time. Theres so many variations in terms of fighting, so it never feels stale. Plus the graphics look awesome. I think the controls are actually pretty easy to pick up, but certainly with some practice you can start pulling off some sick stuff. Anyone who is on the fence with this game should definitely pick it up.

Yea.... I suck at it. The helicopter at (which I assume is) the end of the first level kicks my ass every time. Any tips?

When it comes at you shooting, jump towards the nose and in slow mo kick it until your fx gets low, then do the second part of the double jump to get out of the way. Also when the copter's blades are not red, you can jump on top of it and pound the crap out of it while standing on top. And then of course you knock back the missles it shoots at you. Oh yeah, and try not to get ht too much. :P

You confused yet. LOL

i bought this game today and all i have to say, god damn. its been a long time since i found a new release that i didn't get annoyed at because it was hard. i actually enjoy the challenge this game has to offer, even if it means getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter :D, i had to go to kid mode since i couldn't beat the helicopter after an hour lol. well while i take a break im gonna find a place to put my bobblehead.
:o

There are actually 4 ways to beat the helicopter (learned after playing heavily against it for an hour straight).

1. Slo-mo kick the bullets it fires from it's chain gun back into the helicopter. Remember you have to be at the right angle and have the control stick at the right angle to hit it!)

2. Slo-mo kick (or punch) the Joe-seeker missiles back at the helicopter. Same as 1

3. Jump on top of the helicopter and pummel it (very ineffectual).

4. Dodge the drones to send them into Slow Bullet mode with the helicopter above, then slo-mo and uppercut them into the bottom of the helicopter....it works but it's HARD! Remember, to uppercut, hold straight down when you punch while they've got hte slo-mo pink targets!

After a while, you'll beat it. Took me about 5 tries before I got the hang of it! :D

Wow. This game really gets unnecessarily difficult. I spent nearly two hours trying to get through that retarded multilevel mansion in which you have to go a very long distance on one life. I bought about 40,000 worth of powerups along the way from dying so much, and I still didn't make a dent. So much for any desire to complete this game.

The Mansion is nothing wait till you get to the boss of that level. I can't beat him... ...must keep playing can't stop. @_@

You think thats tough...wait till you get two bosses past that one. He took me at least an hour. The mansion boss is quite simple really. Anyone want some help let me know. This game is crazy, I haven't had a tough challenge like this that I actually wanted to keep playing. I love this game. :D

Just when I thought it was safe to go and glue the door to the GC shut so it's an Animal Crossing Cube for my wife, up comes Viewtiful Joe. Now THIS is the kinda stuff I wanna see. It's the perfect combo of a classic 8/16 bit platformer with modern technology. No needless meandering, just in your face action. I started playing it at 10:30 last night and when I looked at the clock again it was 11:30. I didn't realize an hour had passed.

I'm currently stuck on the helicopter. I know my problem is I use up to much power in slow mo and I sometimes find myself caught in the copter blades when trying to sky over the beast.

Same here. I keep getting knocked out of "viewtiful" mode. Whenever I jump up to hit it, my VFX time gets hit down a lot for some reason. What is this from?

The auto-dodge knocks it down quite a bit. Make sure you aren't doing a slow motion jump right into harm's way.

Yea that boss is pretty easy now. There is always a pattern. Even though it seems it liked to break it every now and then.

Ahhh, that would be it. I found myself doing the limbo when I'd land on the cockpit while the blades were spinning. Didn't realize the dodge took so much off.
