I like my TG16, but be prepared to go virtually Ebay only to get games. VERY hard to find in the wild, in my experience. Since the TG16 only outputs RF, I recommend the TurboBooster attachment, so it will output composite video and sound.

FYI, a TG16 will work just fine with a Genesis 1 AC adapter and RF switch.

Good Luck!

WELL worth it! There are tons of shooters and great action games for it, and even a handful of RPGs. The REAL gold is if you get a Turbo Duo though! Then you can play ALL the CD games as well, and there are TONS of killer imports on the handily region free Duo CD system. You'll still need a convertor for the import huCards though.

If you want to see the SH comic ad, just go here: http://www.classicgaming.com/splatterhouse/splatterhousead.gif

Other Turbo games I could recommend besides Splatterhouse:

HuCard:
Ninja Spirit
R-Type
Blazing Lazers
Super Star Soldier
Psychosis
Fantasy Zone

CD:
Valis II
Valis III
Ys Books I & II

I'm only listing US titles here, of course - there's many imports I'd list, but I don't know if you're interested in importing.

TG16 has precious few really good games and many absolute stinkers. Still, it is my all time favorite system. There is just something about the graphics: bright, colorful, vibrant. They have this glowing quality about them. It's just a joy to look at. The great games on the system are also amazing and worth picking up the system for.

IMO, the best games are as follows and they are in order of greatness:

1. Devil's Crush-- video gaming doesn't get much better than this.
2. Blazing Lazers-- one of the best shooters on any system.
3. Military Madness-- a great strategy game, very unique and fun to play.
4. Splatterhouse-- a great port of a great game.
5. Legendary Axe II-- IMO much better than the original
6. Legendary Axe-- Still a very fun game
7. Ninja Spirit-- a beautiful, unique game, just a little too easy.
8. Galaga '90-- oh, so much fun.
9. Time Cruise-- a very fun pinball game.
10. Bloody Wolf-- cool, good looking game.

There are other decent games for the system. I would STRONGLY recommend picking up a system that comes with the "TURBO BOOSTER" as it allows you to hook up the system with AV jacks, Otherwise, the picture quality will suffer greatly.

Have fun!!

The regular TG16 does not use AV jacks unless you buy the TURBOBOOSTER adapter. It uses crappy Composite Video just like the Atari 2600. The Duo comes standard with AV connection.

The auction you are looking at looks pretty cool, but the games suck...

The Duo does take HuCards, yes... it takes both CDs and cards, hence the title of TurboDuo.
