Not sure if this is anything old or new but I was at Circuit City because I decided 9.97 was a good buy for DC bass fishing and some guy was putting out 6 Limited Edition Platinum Game Boy Advanced out on the floor. They were only getting 6 he said. Usual GBA price of 69.99, but still the coolest Limited Edition Game Boy ever.

They've been out since the end of May. For a while they were blowing them out at $49.99. I just wish it was in a "real" faux-metallic casing (like the old Game and Watch games - think Spitball Sparky) instead of the gray plastic.

My platinum isn't grey plastic, it's like a chrome plastic, if you scratch it seems to be chrome threw and threw.. Regardless, guess it's old news

I got a Glacier GBA for 39.99 and traded it in at EB for the Platinum GBA I have, I get more ohhs and ahhs from people when I pull it out in that huge checkout line at the Super Wal-Mart or the Movies then I did my clear blue GBA.. People freak out when they hear you playing NES Zelda on a GBA.. imho the platinum is the coolest gba next to the some of those JAP LE GBA's like the Final Fight Black.

I got married this summer, and I gave out Platinum GBAs to my groomsmen as their "gift." I ended up buying four of them, (at the $49.99 price) and didn't have any money left to buy myself one! :( My Groomsmen STILL talk about it. I guess it went over well!

Off topic, but: That was a terrific idea, Dobie!

Just HOW many variations of the GBA do they have available on the market now, anyway?

In USA: There's Indio, Glacier, and Artic plus the Fruschia (sp?) and finally Platium.

There's a few Japan only exclusives like 2 or 3 different version of Pokemon edition. Maybe a hot pink Hello Kitty and who knows?

Heh, that's "Indigo" and "Fuschia", I believe.

There's a gold Pokemon edition available here in the US too.
