Here's an interesting episode of Computer Chronicles from 1990 (click the link below. Once on that page: right-click the 'MPEG4' link under 'download' and select 'save target as'):

It's about 30 minutes long. They talk mostly about Nintendo's NWC, Sega Genisis, and NEC. You won't really learn anything, but it's a nice little window to the past. Also, if you browse around the other episodes from the 80's, you will see a lot of coverage of the computer/game systems of yesteryear: commodore, amiga, the atari 8-bit line, etc.

If you've got high-speed access, check it out.

Curious...

I remember there was one episode of Computer Chronicles where they discussed the hardships of configuring one's computer to run games. They mentioned a piece of software ("The Game Doctor" by Mad Mouse) that would supposedly let you extensively reconfigure a DOS setup without having to constantly reboot. I have yet to find this program...

Unforunately, it doesn't look like this episode is in the archives yet.

I have aquired a prestine origional disket in the case with all the paperwork of this mad mouse software. This is the only thing on the internet that has mentioned the GAME DOCTOR. I would like to know if you know more about this software and is it rare?

here I would take a picture but I'm feeling lazy right now.

Hey, thanks for the link. Great content. I am going to use some of those videos in a Technology Literacy course I teach. (Good for some old background info in the HX of modern computing -- as well as a small unit I do on the history of video games!)

I don't recall the show; I'll have to get some background info.

thanks again!

EDIT: I just realized that the original post is 7 years old... hrm... still a good link!
