Today while at my local market i stumbled across what could be considered my best ever find. Today i started and completed my odyssey collection bar one game :D I picked up the following

Boxed Magnavox Odyssey
Boxed Shooting Gallery
Boxed Baseball
Boxed Basketball
Boxed Brainwave
Boxed Funzoo
Boxed Handball
Boxed Interplanetary Voyage
Boxed Invasion
Boxed Volleyball
Boxed Win
Boxed Wipeout

All overlays, cards, counters, dice etc. I saw on a magnavox odyssey site that only 3 sets of the Basketball, Interplanetary Voyage, WIN, and Brainwave are known to exist. Well make that four now.

To top this off all the games appear mint and totally complete. The even more funny thing is this system was never released in the country i live in

Yeah its been a good day :D

EDIT: I just found out i have the nr 12 game card, only 2 known to exist!

Add to this that you found it in New Zealand, even more spectacular.

Ok well here are some quick pics. The boxes are not as nice as i thought, but everything inside them is mint, infact mostof the games have not been used and the inserts or little tokens have not evenbeen opened :)

And somewhere in the middle of Arkansas, PDF is quietly making travel arrangements to New Zealand.

Those pics bring back memories...wish my folks didn't throw ours out. :(

Me too.

(I mean I wish my folks hadn't thrown ours out...welll...I wish your folks hadn't thrown yours out too...you get my meaning.)

I think every time people crab that all the good stuff has dissapeared from "the wild" this find should be displayed as a stunning example of the fact that, yeah, you can find stuff in the wild still, you just got to have a bit of luck.

Very nice find, enjoy that!

hey guys, thanks for all the good wishes..

For any of your guys that are big into odyssey, id be happy to try and take pictures of anything you want to see, as i said most stuff looks new or at least basically unused ( the game anyways ), the machine has been used and is a little dusty, but the games seem unused, might be a good time for some reference pictures, unfortunately i really didnt know much or anything about the odyssey before finding this gear, so i have a question on the overlays.

Whats the best way to store the overlays, do you keep them in the boxes with games? or take them out and keep them flat, they seem tobe very flexible, soi dont think they would crack, or is this something that may happen over time?

Most

awesome

find

ever.

:D

It's hard to find ANYthing from the 1970s that's not dusty, nasty, or covered with engine oil streaks at markets...I have no idea how that managed to survive in such good condition. All the same, I think I speak for everybody when I say HOLY COW, GOOD THING IT FOUND YOU.

It's nice to know that we're saving the past, piece by piece. :)
