so, for whatever reason, my dreamcast absolutely refuses to play Sonic Adventure and Airforce Delta. i have no idea why, it boots through the normal dreamcast screen, then goes back to the hardware menu, saying to insert a disk. all my other games work fine, just these two don't seem to work. the games work in my friend's dreamcast, so they're fine...
has anyone had a similar problem with games simply not loading? my dreamcast was manufactured in Nov 1999.
thanks for any help

Alright, I'll probably get yelled at by someone for my practices, but here's what I do when a game doesn't work for some reason: I open the lid, spin it with my finger (semi-fast) and then close the lid. This works after a few tries usually. 90% of my DC collection boots up normally but whenever I have a straggler this is what I always do to get it to play.

that's not working for me.
also, i forgot to mention the fact that i've tried more than one copy of sonic adventure in my dreamcast... and no copy seems to work.

Actually, now that you mention it, I think there were a lot of defective copies of launch titles for the DC (I remember hearing at least Sonic Adventure and Blue Stinger among the lot). I had a version of Sonic Adventure a while back that I had to return to EB becuase it would constantly freeze in a certain spot.

There were. We had a whole batch of defective Sonics at Funco when it launched. We had the same problem with NFL2K.
Did these games work normally before, and then start to act up?

they never worked on my dreamcast... but they both run on my friend's. is it a defect with the games themselves, or with the system?
