Tri-Star 64 and NES Famicom Converter HELP!

I recently bought a Tri-Star 64 and a NES to Famicom Converter which is supposed to allow me to play my US released NES games on it. I can't get any games to work. Has anyone tried to do this and gotten it to work? I'm wondering if it will work, or if I just have a bad converter? The websites that sell the Tri-star say it will work, but I've had no success... and all the documentation is in Japanese.... HELP!

Make sure you turn the game backwards. It won't play facing forwards.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried that and it still doesn't work.

Does that mean I have a bad converter?

Have you actually used a US NES cart, Converter and the Tri-Star 64 together?
