The soon-to-be-released MSX game Sky Jaguar for the ColecoVision is really great news for ColecoVision owners.
By doing this, Opcode has opened up a whole library of possible games. Even if the games must be 128K or less, then there are still a good number of and a wide variety of great titles, including side-scrolling/level/boss games, such as Nemesis 1 and 2 (Salamander is the best); the Atari 7800 was sorely lacking in that area!

Even if you just stick with the 128K or less games, you can't help but be impressed!
Add to this the lost games that were found and released, such as Steamroller and Lord of the Dungeon, and the fantastic homebrews, such as Bejeweled, Star Fortress, Ms. Space Fury, Amazing Snake, and of course the Space Invaders Collection, and the CV library just keeps getting better.

I have to agree. I'm busy trying to find a good cheap CV to play my copy of SIC.

You can buy a Coleco ADAM really cheap, usually cheaper than a CV off Ebay.

newcoleco and another guy have been working on a bankswitching CV cart. From the CV programming forum:
2. To do a big Coleco game, each part (rom file) must be less than 32K (8000-EFFF), and also had the loader to continue bankswitching.
The biggest coleco game you can do with this bankswitch configuration is approx. 256x31K = 7,75MegaBytes (I think it's big enough for any new coleco games).

I thought of hacking a CV into something like that before. Moving the controller ports to the front is a must though. The way they plug into the side and are yanked from an angle instead of just plugging into the front like other systems bothers me more than the size. I'd like to know how to add that RGB mod Opcode has on his.

My only CV modification was for the driving module. Tired of using batteries, and not liking the adapter, I simply ran off the 6V power supply from the Roller Controller through a simple Radio Shack adapter/wire to one in the module (both units use 6V). A Y-Adapter in the main console rounds out the picture. Of course, you could run the signal through the Roller Controller, but I didn't want to bother with that.
By the by, that mini-ColecoVision is one professional-looking piece of work!

Hi Zaxxon!
... seeing a lot of talk about the CV is something which make me happy...
Since I used parts of an already assembled MSX RGB circuitry, I can't tell you right way the necessary components. But I am digging a MSX schematic so I can publish it in my site. I am sure every CV fan will be very happy with the resulting image quality. :)

I'm not sure there would be enough room to put the controller jacks in the front, especially considering the expansion slot.
I thought about just putting them where the exp. slot is. I never use the exp. slot anyway.
