it seems i cant finish a game these days without consulting a walk through, but every time i go searching for one i end up in missing link, no file, pop-up hell. even with big leauge titles like splinter cell you have to go thru so many hoops just to get to needed info. what sites are good for this?
how do you spell it anyways is it-

honestly. IGN's are good... but I think you have to be an insider.

True.. Except it gets kind of hard to find IGN guides to Turbografx or NES games :P

My only complaint about gamefaqs.com is that they haven't realized yet that not everybody prints out their walkthroughs and that the simple addition of a few html code lines to add hyperlinks from the table of contents to the right chapter would make navigation within those walkthroughs a much easier task when browsing it online. It wouldn't make the site much heavier and it'd still be readable in a printout (hyperlink blue is close enough to black to be visible in a black-and-white copy).

Hey Lady Jaye,
couldn't you use crtl+F (works in IE & Mozilla, probably many other browsers too) to find the appropriate chapter, and then copy and paste what you need into a word or notepad document?
It's what I usually do....

Agrees 100% with Lady Jaye. It always takes me around 15 minutes to find what i want when i go to gamefaqs.

Not sure what LJ means. I've been using GameFAQ's for over six years -- have a couple walkthroughs there myself -- and I always just browse them online, not normaly print them out, and the Find command to go through the large ones.
Plus, this is all done by ONE guy -- there's only so much Clay can do. :)

Gamefaq's is by far the best.

Yes, I agree that you can use the find function from within the browser, but adding hyperlinks in the table of contents is an easy-to-add, simple html code. And people who prefer the find function could still use it.
It may seem like I'm nitpicking here, but I get annoyed by this every time I use gamefaqs.com.

I like to use Gamefaqs as a backup, for an alraedy stated reason - I hate reading plain text, especially 100 pages worth.
I like the japanese way of doing walkthrus. THere's no central site, so you have to spend a bit of time. They're usually laid out nicely, and don't spoil too much for you. It's easier to find a game flow chart with little hints in it

I like gamefaqs.com alot, but I was bummed out when they had DragonSlayer II listed for TurboCD, but nothing associated with it. I just bought the Japanese version of it since it was never released in the US and have figured out the controls and the such but really needed a FAQ\Walkthrough. :(

Verily, we would all suffocate in our own festering ignorance were it not for the scintillating font of knowledge that is GameFAQs. Or not.
