I received some interesting things someone on eBay not too long ago, and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify them. They are two systems. Externally, they are a SNES Ver 1 and a Geni 2. Internally, I don't know. The description stated that they were test systems, but I'm not so sure.

Both systems have a wire coming out of the cartridge slot with some blue connector at the end. The problem is, the connectors are the same size. Something tells me that Sega and Nintendo didn't produce something that interchangable.

Anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures right now, and I haven't yet tried them out. I will be doing that in a few days hopefully. I'm super happy because no matter what they are, the auction contained "one game cartridge" that just happened to be Chrono Trigger :D

No, the cord is much smaller. You could still plug a cartridge into either system while the cord is still sticking out.

I'll try snagging some pics over the weekend. I've seen in person or owned dev.kits for the Jaguar, Lynx, Dreamcast and 3DO and none of them look anything like this...

Wierd, if it wasn't ISA compatible what would it have been? Not PCI, that's also pretty big. Since these are supposedly Genesis systems, maybe they were made with a cord to connect them to a US system. Do they look like any sort of PC interface you've seen before?
