I was thinking this recently, Strider has at least 2 DIFFERENT "strider 2's" One on the Genesis, one on the Master System (not sure if it's the same as the Genesis Version), and a totally different one on the PSX.
Not to mention the Sonic 2 on the Gamegear/Master system being totally different from the Genesis version. And Shinobi's got several games that are called "shinobi 2"

How many games have "alternate sequels" like these?

I dunno....Bubble Bobble? I think Rainbow Islands is supposed to be the "official" sequel though they released Bubble Bobble 2 later.

How can you forget Street Fighter 2?

-Street Fighter 2
-Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition
-Street Fighter 2: Now With Ketchup
-Street Fighter 2: Ultra Turbo Hyper Fighters
Street Fighter 2: Now With 33% More M. Bison

Actually I just forgot the names, but there were at least 3 games with "Street Fighter 2" in the title.

SFII doesn't fit what he's looking for, because they all have distinct subtitles. I think RL's looking for games with the exact same name, ie "Game 2", but that are distinctly different. You know, like George Forman's sons - they're all named "George."
