I use www.guardiana.net for my MD / Genesis Collection

and www.vgrebirth.org for the rest

plus an excel spreadsheet for how complete all my collection is.

VGR FTW. Of course, I have to say this. I mean, viral marketing, come on.

That said, I also keep track of my collection there. *points at logo in sig*

www.vgrebirth.org is my preference as well. Glad to see it growing in popularity

Also, I keep a personal hand-written log. I have "two types" -- one that lists the order of games purchased, and another that goes more in-depth (e.g. any interesting side-stories regarding the buy, who the seller is, etc.)

Keeping a personal log, or tab, is a great idea, esp. if you're the archiving-loving historian type. Like me :p

for me, i use a few methods:

RF GENERATION! - the best online video game collection tool....

One the net, i use RFGeneration's collection tool (www.rfgeneration.com)....this is absolutely the best online collection tool available...plus, i'm on the staff there and i know, if you find a game missing, and you post about it, it will be added to the collection list within minutes...

I also keep a detailed Excel spreadsheet (it's at about 3000 lines right now....)

Beyond that, I keep a Word document each year detailing day purchased and total spent.....

As for DVD collection, I keep an Excel spreadsheet as well as an online listing at DVD Aficionado...... (www.dvdaficionado.com)

I have 2 metal 4 drawer filling cabinets that I have all my games inside with all the spine lables pointing upwards, along with whatever system isn't connected to the GameStop Switcher Box at the moment. I just know which drawers lead to what really, never actually took the time to make a master list. I'd actually know if something was missing at just a glance.

I use Collectorz.com's GameCollector software. It's pretty good software. It allows you to add a ton of information about each game you own, or if you're lazy like I am you can just put basic info in. You can export your list (in a much simpler form) to HTML and upload it to a website. Check my sig if you wanna see how it looks. Plus, you can use ListPro to export your database to a Palm device.

I used to do this with my Zodiac, but it got annoying. For one, it was inconvenient to slowly scroll through that big list. Also, if I didn't turn my Zodiac on in a month or so (which sometimes is the case), it deletes all the stored memory. Which means not only do I have to reload my collection, I have to reinstall the damn software to do it. It just didn't seem worth the trouble to me.

I'm still looking for a good way of taking my list with me.

Ditto, i've been using Game Collector for a long time.

Also, it exports to my Ipod, a handy feature :)
