Stumbled across this while surfing the web. What a friggin' clever idea for a shirt. It transcends all game systems, all retrocomputers. It's immediately recognizable only to those who grew up with them, as none of the newer systems (to my knowledge) use 'em. I gotta get one.

I'm trying to figure out why this annoys me. It really, really annoys me, but I can't articulate it yet.

The shirt. I just keep picturing the Trendy People walking around with them, the prices spiking up, the Trendy People buying stuff and then just tossing it when they're done with the Trend... I don't like the Trendy People.

I don't like the Trendy People.
Agreed. I saw a little 15 year old girl wearing an extremely tight pacman shirt the other day. It annoyed me to say the least. Girls will wear tight shirts, im not disputing that, its just that i am very sure that the girl that I saw did not play pac-man growing up. She probably just bought it at hot topic because it looked trendy based on the whole "80's resurgance" that is taking place right now. (walk into your local toy store if you dont know what I mean)
At hot topic they have all kinds of 80's stuff, including some video game stuff. They had many mario t-shirts, kirby t-shirts, and well as other items. They even had a bumper sticker of an NES controller that said "know your roots".
Although some of these items looked cool, like as stated before, once the trend goes away, so will the shirts. Hot Topic can burn for all I care. If I wanted to be a punk, I wouldnt do it by supporting a mega-corporation by purchasing 80 dollar punk pants that have tons of chains and zippers. Thats totally against what being a punk is all about. A real punk makes his/her own clothes, and shops at salvation army.
Anyways, I am off on a rant here. Let me just say that all of you will see a lot more video games shirts and other junk based on this 80's resurgance, but keep in mind that its a trend. And if you must indulge, dont buy from hot topic. Screw them.

That shirt is great! You know how many of these switchboxes I had? As a matter of fact, I needed one not too long ago. I went to radio shack and asked the kid on duty. He had NO IDEA what I was talking about. I finally had to scour the store myself and find one.

First switch box i had was for odyssey 2.

the pins that screwed on the vhf prongs were stripped so you just wrapped the copper coils around it and jiggles it till the snow was gone.

Hi tech baby!

I did a hot topic search: here is what I came up with

Nintendo:

Mario:

Atari:

The trend continues. Although I REALLY like that Goomba shirt...

Back on the topic of, uh, Hot Topic:

AAAAH

AAAAAAaaahHH AAAH

*passes out from the sheer ugliness*

One thing that's been noted, though, is quite true: When NES-era Nintendo stuff isn't a "Hot Topic" anymore, it'll disappear from that website, just you wait.
