Nintendo 64 Banana Controller Nintendo Power Exclusive

When Donkey Kong 64 came out Nintendo Power had an exclusive N64 controller that was painted like a banana. I ordered Nintendo Power to get this controller and never received it, I got a crappy hint book instead. Did anyone get this controller or did they never make it? I would love to at least know if there are some around.

I think i remember that but never seen one. You never called to see why u never got it.

the controller was sent out to people, you must have put your order in after they ran out or something.

I did all the credit card info over the phone 2 days after the promo started. They sent me a DK64 Strat guide insted. I wasn't too worried about it at the time, I am now. I see how much the translucent controllers go for and I know this must be much more rare. Wasn't too big of a deal, just wanted to see if anyone ever got one.

I wouldn't totally quote myself, but I'm fairly certain that there are Donkey Kong, Pikachu, and Zelda controllers for the N64. I was seriously contemplating collecting for that system, and I remember running across those three. Maybe the Zelda one was just gold (like what came with the Gold ToysRUs exclusive system), but I'm pretty sure that it actually said Zelda somthing or other on it. I remember seeing that at United Game Source ( http://www.unitedgame.com ), or maybe it was BuyRite (http://www.buyritegames.com )?

@marc, i don't think they're worth too much, i saw a neverused one on ebay go for less than 20. they sure are cool though!

I have one that I've also never used. I bought that DK clear green 64 so I got the controller from Nintendo power to go along with it. Being the collector that I am its still in its original bag. I am too afraid to wear off the painted bananas! :roll:

I also have the banana controller. I've never used it either...just because I have about 5 other controllers so the need was never there. Perhaps I'll use it the next time I play DK64...

It's yellow, but not that yellow controller. It has banana's painted on the it. It was a Nintendo Power Exclusive.
