View Full Version : Is my Game boy MR.DO! cart a fake? if legit, for trade/sale

I bought Mr.Do today complete with manual and box (for the game boy)
And I really don't know if it's fake or not.
The nintendo gold seal looks totally legit (on the front, back and inside the manual). I have seen nintendo games that look legit but the gold seal has always been badly reproduced.
The thing is the manual print quality is not good at all and on some pages the words and images 'fall off' at the top and bottom of the page.
Its the same deal with the cart.
The label does not to be centered perfectly but the silver edges ('this side up' on one side and 'made in Japan DMG-MA-USA' on the other) is perfect.
I don't know what to make of this. The seals and little details are excellent and seem legit, but the big details are inconsistent.
Then again I have never had a Gameboy so I don't know much about these things.
It's a fake right?

maybe someone with the real thing can tell me if this is a fake? even though I'm 75% sure it is, some of the details are excellent. And some are not at all.

Take a look at the screw in the back of the cartridge. If it's a plain old phillips head, it's almost certainly a fake.

I picked the game up at a pawn shop.
The scew is very similar or maybe even the same as the Super Famicom game screws. http://www.lara.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?oc=BT-NT06
that is the exact shape of the screw
anyone?

I see the same type of screw in my old Link's Adventure (GameBoy original) cart as in my Super Famicom carts. Yes, I think you've got a legitimate cartridge.

You think?? I mean the print job on/in the manual is lame. I want to know if it is legit coz I want to sell it or trade it and don't want to be offering bootleg material. I guess its hard to know about this game as it hardly ever comes up complete. This is rare in Gameboy terms isn't it? I was following the thread that came up a short while back about Gameboy rarity and this came up.
If it is real and anyone wants to buy it or trade for it, let me know.
Thank you all.
